fotball50 asked I have a 1950 Bayline Capri. The problim is i am getting power to my trim but not to the dash. help asap?
the trim works the batery has power but no power to lights ignition anything like that. yea i did that all of the wires are connected yet no power. i know we put a new starter in it brand new but i dont think that could be it we should still get power
And got the following answer:
The + cable from the battery runs to one terminal on the starter relay, on this same terminal the trimpump + is attached and also the red cable that runs to the dash, this red cable that runs to the dash has a thermal overload located on a base plate somewhare on top of the engine (Red button), ever tried to reset this one? There should be 12v+ on both terminals on this thermal switch! On the other terminal of the starter relais opposide the one with the cable from the bat+. is the cable that runs to the starter motor only. The trim pump has its own 12v cable direct from the starter relais + terminal so runs seperatly from the rest of the electrics.
