Minus the large amperage load of the starting motor, amperage returns to the solenoid coil pulling the relay closed once again with the third "click". ....add infinity. You have: #1. A battery failing to fully charge with electrochemical potential energy. #2. A battery that has failed and can not supply adequate electrochemical energy #3. A poor battery or terminal connection at solenoid or starter motor or a poor high resistance ground at frame or battery. #4.
